Keeping It up

“Getting it up” is not normally an issue for younger men. With the number of hormones coursing through the younger body, a light breeze can be enough to achieve an erection.   • Stress
  • Fear
  • Anxiety
  • Drugs & Alcohol

Anxiety, specifically “Performance Anxiety” is the leading cause of loss of erection. Worse, performance anxiety is a vicious circle – the slightest doubt causes a softening of the erection; which increases the doubt; which causes less rigidity; and so on and so on.

There is only one way to get around anxiety – you have to get out of your head and try to get present in the moment. To do that you:

  1. Get comfortable and relax,
  2. Clear your mind
  3. Focus on your breathing for 10 to 15 steady breaths
  4. Think about something that you find enjoyable. It does not have to be sexually enjoyable, but that can help.
  5. Start some light direct stimulation
  6. Continue to focus on your breathing
  7. Visualize yourself doing what you want to be doing

The more you can purge your mind of unwanted thoughts, the easier it will be to get past the erection killer. This technique can work for most any cognitive, mental or emotional issues that are getting in the way of your erection.

Even if you get your mind completely clear and focused, there are still a number of things that can impact your erection. Drugs and Alcohol have a significant impact on your erection.  For example, chronic users of Methamphetamine or Crystal Meth can seldom achieve more than a semi-erect penis.
